Patient Medical Records System

FSBIO is a complete system for handling patient records covering personal data, prescriptions, lab-tests, office visits, living-will details and much more.

It started life as a DOS program written in Fortran77 using Interacter for the screen I/O, but the customer wanted to bring the application up to date and asked Polyhedron to help out with the porting.  It was decided that there was no point changing the language it was written in and no point developing a mixed-language solution as everything could be kept in Fortran by using the Winteracter GUI library running under Windows.

The first phase of the project has now been completed and is undergoing rigorous testing.  The application has remained 100% Fortran and has been developed using Intel Fortran and Microsoft's Visual Studio 2003 providing an excellent development and debugging platform.  All window controls use the Winteracter library which gave a seamless upgrade path from the Interacter library keeping development costs to a minimum.
