Intel Software licensing

Intel Software licensing has changed for V2016.  The terms below are for versions 2015 and below.

Intel Software Licence-type availability varies from product to product.  For example, Node-locked and Classroom licences are not available for some of the products.

Single or Named User User Licence: versions Pre March 2015: Can be installed on as many computers as you wish but only one named user and only one copy in use at any one time. Versions Post March 2015: If you obtained the Materials under a named-user licese, You allow only one (1) individual to install and use the materials on no more than three (3) computers provided that same individual is using the materials only on one (1) computer at a time.  If you obtained a time-limited named-user license, the term of your license and your ability to use the materials is limited to the time period of the obtained license, which is specified on Intel's download website, specified in the applicable documentation or controlled by the license key for the materials.

Node-locked: Locked to one computer but can be used by any authorized user.  This option has been phased out and Software Service Renewal (SSR) is only available for existing licence holders.

Floating licences: Available for 1, 2, 5, 20 or 50 seats (varies according to the product).  Uses FlexLM and is licensed per seat (concurrent user). Licences can be added together (i.e. if you need 3 users, buy 1 + 2).  Users do not need to be named.

Academic licences:  They are purchased for use within a degree-granting establishment.  Research, teaching, educational use only, with no commercial gain.  Government funded research establishments do not qualify.

Classroom (academic) licences: Available for teaching purposes in a degree-granting establishment. Purchased in 25-user bundles.  Available for some software bundles.

Student licences: Available for some software bundles.  We require proof of student id (can be photocopied and emailed).
